How to interview for the job you want...and get it!
Everyone, from the CEO the secretary has to interview for their position. In this post, I will give you some tips that will help you with the interview process so you can get the job you want. I'm certainly not an expert, but I can share what has worked for me and others that I know have gotten the jobs they really wanted.
1. Dress for success: You never get a second chance to make a first impression. This is so true. Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. If you look successful and carry yourself with confidence, it will go a long way during the interview process. If an employer sees you at your best, you will have an advantage right off the bat.
2. Get there early: Another good impression of your dependability is to get to the interview early. Be prepared.
3. Study about the position and company you are applying with. Nothing impresses an employer more, than if you go in there with background knowledge about the company and position you are applying for.
4. Look them in the eye: When speaking with the person that is asking you questions, look them in the eye. It asserts confidence and shows you are sure of yourself. It also shows that you are honest in your answers.
5. Sell yourself: You need to give them all you got. Prove to them that you ARE the best candidate and why. Be thorough in explaining your skills and background. Be prepared to explain in anomalies in your resume.
Using these simple but effective tips will help you secure the job you want.
